Can someone with more knowledge of the Russian league tell when and why Chalov “slumped” so much? Actually remembered him in 2018/19 as a very good striker who was about to jump into a top league.
Has stagnated lately.
I rate him as a very strong, active and dangerous striker. But in the end it didn’t work.
However, there are also possible reasons for this:
– CSKA is generally in decline and has recently developed into an average RPL team from CL to EL contender
– The squad is / was not filled enough – it follows that Chalov lacks intelligent players at his side to keep the goal rate high
– It was often used incorrectly (on the wings).
I haven’t been following the games themselves lately, but I think that covers everything there is to say about it.
Since CSKA has not installed a direct purchase option, it actually indicates that they are still counting on the player and still believe in his talent.
We’ll see how he does – fingers crossed!
