Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona experience a spectacle in Lisbon – with a flattering end. Liverpool FC also continues to win.
Hansi Flick took a huge step towards the round of 16 with FC Barcelona in a spectacular Champions League game. At Benfica from Lisbon, the former national coach’s team achieved a phenomenal 5:4 (1:3) success after a long deficit.
Even ahead of Barça, Liverpool FC continues to storm through the premier class without losing any points and won their seventh win in their seventh game with a 2-1 (1-0) win against OSC Lille.
But the most spectacular game was in Lisbon, where Benfica dominated the guests for a long time with a hat-trick from Vangelis Pavlidis (2nd minute/22nd/30th/foul penalty) and an own goal from Ronald Araújo (68th). Two penalty kicks from Robert Lewandowski (13th/78th), Raphinha (64th/90th+6) and Eric García (87th) gave coach Flick a flattering victory.
Liverpool appeared much more confident and remained undefeated at the top of the table thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah (34th) and Harvey Elliott (67th). Jonathan David (62nd) managed to equalize for Lille.
PSV Eindhoven won thanks to goals from former Bundesliga professional Luuk de Jong (17th/23rd) and Ryan Flamingo (43rd) in Belgrade. Cherif Ndiaye (71′), Nasser Djiga (77′) scored for the hosts, who no longer have a chance of reaching the round of 16. The same applies to Sturm Graz, which previously lost 5-0 to Atalanta Bergamo.
