Sergio Busquets will probably not renew his contract with FC Barcelona and will leave the top Spanish club when his contract expires in the summer of 2023 – the newspaper reports “Sports”. The 34-year-old midfielder is moving to Inter Miami after 15 seasons with the Catalans. Busquets decided a long time ago that he wanted to embark on a new adventure.
The veteran will accept an offer from the Major League Soccer club, it is said. Busquets knows he loses energy as he ages, but now has enough to make such a change of direction. Barça would actually like to extend the club icon and therefore offered a contract for two more years. However, the professional preferred a term of only one season and has now made his decision to say goodbye with as many titles as possible at the end of the season.
