The Barça club makes official the transfer of the Frenchman to the Italian club
Umtiti leaves on loan until the end of the season
FC Barcelona has made official the transfer of Samuel Umtiti to Lecce in Serie A until June 2023, that is, for the remainder of the season. After weeks looking for a way out, the Barça club has finally found a place for him in the Italian team, which will take over part of the player’s token.
Thus, Barça achieves the departure of a player who had been on the exit ramp for many months. The continuous injuries had been separating him little by little from the Barça team and Xavi Hernández had made it very clear that he did not intend to count on him, leaving him out in the last calls. The Frenchman will have the prominence at Lecce that he would not have been able to have wearing the azulgrana and he hopes that the adventure will help him to have good feelings again.
In the transfer to the Italian team, no purchase option is added at the end of the season and, therefore, Samuel Umtiti will return to the discipline of FC Barcelona from July 1, 2023.
After officially closing the departure of the Frenchman, now the Barça sports management continues to work on the departures of two other players that Xavi Hernández does not count on at all: Dest and Braithwaite. Aubameyang and Memphis would also be close to leaving.
