“Bullying what you do with him”

Marc-André Ter Stegen’s future at Barça is still open. Dealing with the German keeper is now heavily criticized.
“Guarantee for the present and the future”: FC Barcelona described the obligation of the potential new and above all long -term number one Joan García. The 24-year-old goalkeeper comes from the city rival Espanyol for 25 million euros and receives a contract for a full six years from the Spanish champion and cup winner.
The future of captain Marc-André Ter Stegen is now more questionable than ever. Work was speculated about García’s change for weeks. In the meantime, the German national goalkeeper was allowed to read in the local media that García would be preserved “his” rear number one. That ter Stegen behind the new man, Wojciech Szczęsny and two talents are only number five. According to the Spanish “Mundo Deportivo”, it is now also clear that Ter Stegen will not play a single minute in preparation.
The supposed boosting also calls the opposition on the scene in Barcelona. “Our captain is not treated correctly by the association,” said presidential candidate Victor Font at the Spanish radio station “Catalunya Ràdio”. “It is reprehensible that a player who has been in the club for so long is harassed in this way and that he has to experience everything from the press. It is already bullying what you do with him.”
The 33-year-old, who had failed for months due to his serious knee injury and was replaced by Szczęsny, has so far hardly publicly commented on the matter. On the edge of the Nation’s League games against Portugal and France, Ter Stegen had at least emphasized that he would also like to play for FC Barcelona next season.
His contract with the Catalans is still valid for three years. Turkish media recently reported that the goalkeeper will appear for Galatasaray Istanbul in the future. Only shortly afterwards the “Sport Bild” denied a supposed agreement. Ter Stegen did not want to leave the new challenge and not leave FC Barcelona, which he changed from Borussia Mönchengladbach in summer 2014.
However, with a view to the World Cup, Ter Stegen can hardly get involved in a poker game. Because of his contract until 2028, he could “go into the situation relatively relaxed,” said Nagelsmann, but he believes that the situation ter Stegen “is busy, and that is also human”.
