Injured in training
FC Augsburg will have to do without winger Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee in the coming months. The 25-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee during training on Monday and is expected to miss six months. The right foot had already missed five games this season due to a knee injury.
“In the last few months, Noah had put himself in a very good physical condition through good and diligent training work. With his goal against Dortmund and the starting eleven in Bielefeld, he was rewarded for his efforts and was on the right track. It is all the more bitter for him and for us that he now has to accept such a serious injury,” explained coach Markus Weinzierl.
In total, Sarenren Bazee, who came from Hannover 96 in 2019 for 1.7 million euros, made 30 appearances for the “Fuggerstädter” (two goals/one assist). Last year, a torn ligament put him out of action for a long time. “Unfortunately, I’ve had one or two injuries in my career. Of course I’m very frustrated at the moment, but I’m just as confident that I’ll get through this phase and come back strong as soon as possible,” he said.
