Loan from FC Augsburg extended
In the past six months, Lukas Petkov was directly involved in four goals in 15 games for SpVgg Greuther Fürth, and he should build on these performances in the coming season. The 22-year-old from FC Augsburg, where the offensive player is still under contract until 2026, will remain on loan with the second division club for another year.
“Lukas showed what he can give our game. He knows our processes and knows what’s important for our game,” explained sporting director Rachid Azzouzi. Coach Alexander Zorniger added: “Lukas got used to us in the first six months and we to him. Now both sides can benefit even more from each other and I am really looking forward to that.”
Petkov said: “In the current phase of my career, it’s important that I can gain a lot of match practice at a high level – Fürth is the perfect station for that. Things were going very well for me at the end of the second half of the season, which is why I’m happy that the loan has been extended. Now it’s up to me to consistently perform well and help the team with as many goals and assists as possible.”
