Recently “good progress”

Frederik Winther is leaving FC Augsburg on loan until the summer and joining Portuguese first division club GD Estoril Praia. The Bundesliga club officially announced this on Monday evening. The 23-year-old Dane is under contract with the Fuggerstadt team until 2025.
“Freddy has made good progress in the last few weeks and months, which is why he recently earned a squad nomination against Leverkusen. Nevertheless, we came to the joint decision that another loan and the associated experience in a good European league is the best thing for his further development. We wish Freddy much success and playing time in Estoril,” said FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
Augsburg had already loaned Winther to Denmark in the second half of last season. In the current season, the left-footer was only used in the first round of the cup in the defeat against SpVgg Unterhaching (0:2).
