FC Augsburg: Jurendic reacts to rumors about top striker Demirovic

According to sporting director Marinko Jurendic, FC Augsburg is “calmly” dealing with the increasing speculation surrounding its top striker Ermedin Demirovic, even if “in principle no one is unsaleable”. Before the home game against 1. FC Heidenheim, the 25-year-old Bosnian international was number two among the top scorers in the Bundesliga with 14 goals and eight assists.

Only Bayern striker Harry Kane (27 goals/6 assists) is ahead of Demirovic in the scorers list as of Saturday afternoon, Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy (21/1) is on par. “We are relaxed because Demi has a contract until 2026. And he feels very comfortable here,” emphasized Jurendic on “Sky”. “He’s in the right place. He is currently standing out from a team that has also contributed to him getting into good positions and to his personal success.”

Demirovic’s market value is currently 20 million euros. The record sale at FCA is Abdul Rahman Baba, for whom they made 26 million euros in 2015/16 (statistics). Demirovic, who was born in Hamburg, came to the Fuggerstadt team from SC Freiburg on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, and since then he has contributed 22 goals and 14 assists in 57 games. Back then, Michael Gregoritsch took the opposite path.
