FC Augsburg is handing over left-back talent Aaron Zehnter to SC Paderborn. As both clubs announced, the change will take effect immediately. Nothing was announced about the transfer fee; the 19-year-old’s contract with FCA originally ran until the end of the season. Tenth had been training with the Fuggerstadt team since 2019, and in July 2022 he made his debut for the professionals in the DFB Cup at the age of 17 years and nine months, making him the seventh youngest player in FCA history.
“The FCA showed me a perspective on what my individual support and further development could look like in order to be able to be a part of the FCA professional squad in the long term. I am honored that FCA sees my potential, but with the move I would like to take the opportunity to develop further as a permanent team member of a club in the 2nd Bundesliga,” explained Zehnter, who is due to the competition in his position in the person of Mads Pedersen and Iago has only made two professional appearances so far.

Sports director Marinko Jurendic emphasized: “Even though we would have liked to have given one of our own young players the necessary time to continue working towards our professional team, we respect that Aaron does not want to extend his contract and his wish to move at this time. Since Aaron can already go to the 2nd Bundesliga and sees better future prospects there, we have found a good solution with SC Paderborn.”
