Zeqiri infected with Corona
FC Augsburg will be without strikers Andi Zeqiri (22) and Alfred Finnbogason (33) in the home game against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (5:30 p.m.). The Swiss Zeqiri had tested positive for the corona virus, said trainer Markus Weinzierl on Friday. He is now in domestic isolation.
Finnbogason is even out for several weeks. The Icelander injured his adductors during training. “Of course it’s bitter,” said Weinzierl. The attacker, whose contract is expiring, will “be absent again for a long time”. Finnbogason has already missed 13 of 23 Bundesliga games this season due to injuries.
Weinzierl himself can return to the coaching bench after a corona infection on Sunday in the Bundesliga. For him, in the game against BVB, the focus is on fighting the high “individual quality” of the guests. After two defeats in a row, the Augsburgers are still in the relegation battle.
