FBI: assassination attempt on former president George W. Bush foiled | Abroad

According to the FBI, a suspect, Iraqi asylum seeker Shihab Ahmed Shihab, described the plan to an FBI informant who drove him around Dallas, Texas, in February to check the security of Bush’s home and offices. The terrorists wanted to kill Bush because he would be responsible for killing many Iraqis and disintegrating Iraq, according to the FBI.

The FBI is talking about the plot in a search warrant that went public in a court of law last month. It has since been resealed, but its contents have been picked up by US media. Bush was president of the United States from 2001 to 2009.
