Fatih Karagümrük Technical Director Volkan Demirel met with students at Topkapı University. Answering students’ questions, Demirel gave advice to students about sports and life. Demirel also gave information about the future targets of Karagümrük. Demirel said, “Each of our students should have goals for tomorrow and they should continue to work in line with these goals.”
“I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT OF GOING TO FENERBAHCE CASTLE”
Volkan Demirel continued his words as follows:
“Whatever you think and plan in life, you will live it. You must have a goal and never stop working until you achieve that goal. Always think well of tomorrow, take care of tomorrow and be well. I always thought and aimed to play for Fenerbahçe, I finally achieved it. I have a goal right now and I will work harder to achieve this goal. Go above your goals and experience the feeling of success when you succeed. This is not only true for football but also in life. I always thought of going to Fenerbahce goal, going to the national team goal and the last one. As Fatih Karagümrük, I wanted to be the coach of Fatih Karagümrük and I succeeded. I got an offer to become a goalkeeper from Karagümrük, which was close to finishing my football career. I really wanted it but it didn’t happen. Finally, I got involved as a coach. As long as you ask, success comes after.”
“EVEN IF FENERBAHÇ IS AGAINST ME, I WILL FIGHT FOR KARAGÜMÜK’S SUCCESS”
Demirel stated that he has been a goalkeeper for 18 years and a coach for 2 years in his 20-year football life, “Ersun Yanal played a big role in the beginning of my coaching life. I am happy to be in Fatih Karagümrük right now. I will always work for the success of Fatih Karagümrük. I will always be in Fenerbahçe.” They wanted me to stay, but I set a goal and I progressed in line with this goal. I wanted to see what I could achieve on my own. I’m from Fenerbahce, I always say this, but when I think professionally when Fatih Karagümrük is coaching, I will fight for Karagümrük to be successful, even if Fenerbahçe is in front of me. “I didn’t set up this team, but there was a game system created by our previous teacher. When we looked, we saw that there was an order related to the first region of the game, but we are working to create a team that is closer to the score, which is the second and third regions of the game,” he said.
