Father of football star dies at the age of 58

Losing a parent is always hard. Now Romelu Lukaku mourns his father.
Romelu Lukaku is Belgium’s super striker and has been under contract with SSC Naples since August 2024. Now the football star had to accept a stroke of fate: his father Roger Lukaku died at the age of 58.
The offensive player divided the words touching on Instagram to his parent. He wrote: “Thank you for taught me everything I know. I am grateful to you forever and appreciate you very much. Life will never be like before. You protected and guided me like no other.”
Then the 32-year-old added: “I will never be the same again. The pain and tears flow out. But God will give me the strength to get me back up again.” Finally, he thanked his father again for everything. He provided the words with a snapshot from ancient times.
Lukaku and his father Roger can be seen in the photo. In the photo as a small child, the football star walks along a country road with his father. The young Lukaku wears a colorful trouser and a black jacket while his father wears a warm winter jacket with red and blue details and a wide smile on his face.
Numerous sports greats commented under the post and expressed their condolences. The double Olympic champion and Belgian bike star Remco Evenepoel left two red hearts. Wing player Jérémy Doku from Manchester City also wrote: “Strong brother.” Cyril Ngonge, who is borrowed from Naples to Turin, wrote: “A lot of strength for you and your family, big brother!”
