The story is reported by The New York Post. Father Yia Xiong is said to have asked his five children if they wanted to play in the basement. When the children, ranging in age from 2 to 9 years old, were downstairs they heard three loud bangs. The oldest child, a 9-year-old boy, then went upstairs, saw his parents lying on the floor and called the police.
“The children are currently safe with family,” the police said. A fundraiser has been launched to raise money for the children.
