Father crashes with car in Veldegem
Saturday evening around half past nine a particularly serious accident happened on the Torhoutsesteenweg near the Boutensdreef. A driver driving in the direction of Torhout lost control of his vehicle and went off the road. He ended up in the verge and was catapulted away to the other side of the road where he ended up on his roof in a corn field.
Emergency services came to the scene en masse, but the driver was unable to help. His 7-year-old son, who was in the car, was taken to hospital with a head injury. No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the accident. Due to the accident, Torhoutsesteenweg was closed to all traffic in both directions. The determinations and the towing work still took a long time.
