A fatal accident happened on the A2 highway near Liempde on Monday evening. According to the police, a man was hit by a car while walking on this road around a quarter past ten. Why he did that and who it is is unclear. The highway between Vught and Best-West in the direction of Eindhoven was still closed around half past two Monday night due to a police investigation.
Just before the accident, the police received some reports about a man walking on the A2. Where people had seen that, the fatal accident happened.
Immediately after the report of the collision, several police cars were sent onto the A2, after which officers directed traffic in the right direction. The driver of the car that hit the man was uninjured. The police have called in Victim Support for him, other involved parties and witnesses.
A diversion route has been set up for traffic over the A65 and A58.
