A fatal traffic accident happened on the Torhoutsesteenweg in Veldegem on Saturday evening. The driver (41) of the car died, his 7-year-old son survived the blow. According to eyewitnesses who were questioned by the police, the vehicle would have come from the direction of Bruges. The driver lost control of the steering wheel for unknown reasons and ended up in the verge on the other side of the road.
