Fatal accident in Cassino: speed race hypothesis

Giulio D’Aliesio, 18, died after falling from his two-wheeler on the night between 11 and 12 September: videos available to the Prosecutor’s Office suggest that a speed race was taking place

Giulio D’Aliesio died on the night between 11 and 12 September after falling from his motorbike while traveling along the Via Panoramica which leads from Montecassino to the city centre. The boy was driving alongside another motorbike and an SUV with five boys on board: all six were friends of Giulio. The two videos in the possession of the Cassino Prosecutor’s Office were shot from the SUV: these led the authorities to hypothesize that a speed race was taking place between the three vehicles at the time of the accident. The police are questioning those involved to reconstruct the picture of the episode.

the situation of the boys

The cause of death was chest trauma due to the impact of the fall, as confirmed by the autopsy held on 13 September. The victim’s friends are not under investigation for now, but the magistrate will evaluate their driving behavior.
