Fatal accident hits Dr. Nassau College Quintus in Assen. Secondary school open on Wednesday for students and teachers

On the Dr. Nassau College Quintus in Assen will hold a meeting for students and teachers on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the fatal accident at Ekehaar. The girl who died was a high school student.

The news of the fateful accident on the Hemmenweg between Ekehaar and Anreep hit the Quintus location of the Dr. Nassau College. Director Ralf Buiter writes in a letter to students and parents on Tuesday evening that he is “very touched” by the news.

Five teenagers from Kloosterveen, Assen-Oost and Rolde were involved in the accident on Monday night. A girl from Assen was killed, the other four minors were injured. Three of the injured are on Dr. Nassau College, the fourth is a former student. It is not known how serious their injuries are.

Memorial Room and Victim Support

The Quintus location is open on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for students, teachers and parents to be there for each other. Employees of Victim Support, Vaart Welzijn and youth health care (JGZ) will be present to talk to you if necessary. A memorial room will also be set up in the school for the girl who died.

Also next week, when the new school year starts, attention will be paid to the fateful accident. The management is still considering the details of the introduction program in the first week.

The violent accident reverberates hard in Assen and Rolde. Flowers were placed at the tree where the car crashed into on Tuesday. Nothing is yet known about the cause of the accident. The five occupants were minors. None of them had a driver’s license.
