The statue was thoroughly cleaned to soften the natural green of the statue. The stripes on Mathille’s face have also been removed.
To provide extra protection for the statue, a layer of wax has been applied to it. This product forms an invisible barrier and protects against all kinds of moisture and dirt. In the future, this wax will have to be reapplied every 6 to 12 months to ensure lasting protection.
