Fat Comedy gives a statement on the Pocher slap in the face

Fat Comedy slapped Oliver Pocher two weeks ago and caused a stir: Most viewers of the incident recorded in the video condemned the violence. The self-proclaimed comedian Fat Comedy has commented on the incident on social media several times, and Oliver Pocher has also commented on the matter in a 15-minute video and is threatening a lawsuit for bodily harm. Now Fat Comedy has released another statement about its new YouTube channel.

Fat Comedy, who has 1.5 million followers on TikTok and whose Instagram profile was shut down for a day after the smack, is sharing on a new channel: YouTube. There, together with his lawyer Burkhard Benecken, he wrote a ten-minute message in his office. Fat Comedy starts the message like this: Violence is not a solution.

Then he talks about the evening in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle. He says he would not have planned the slap in the face – and also did not know that Pocher would be present at the boxing match. Upon seeing the comedian there, he said he acted out of affect. “It all happened very quickly. As I said, I saw him, I reviewed everything and then I let my emotions guide me.”

Fat Comedy shares experiences and positions itself against bullying

The trigger for his actions would have been Pocher’s behavior of constantly making jokes at the expense of others. Fat Comedy knows first-hand what it’s like to be bullied – and that bullying can have terrible effects on people. As an example, he cites the case of the model Kasia Lenhardt, who committed suicide in 2021 due to bullying. He himself was bullied a lot because of his overweight.

Fat Comedy said the slap was caused by his own negative experiences. In any case, nobody would have asked or encouraged him to beat Oliver Pocher in the past. Furthermore, it also explains that he is not a rapper and is not “unemployed”.

It would have been better to use his words instead of violence, he added. If he were to come across Oliver Pocher in a court case, he would tell him that his behavior was wrong, but that Pocher’s behavior was not always impeccable either. Saying such things would sometimes have more serious consequences than just a slap in the face.
