Petar Ratkov’s goal made it 0-1 for Red Bull Salzburg against Blau-Weiß Linz on Saturday. The Serb scored just six seconds after kick-off, making it the fastest goal in the 50-year history of the Bundesliga.
Ratkov was shot when the Blue and White goalkeeper Nicolas Schmid hit the ball and the ball found its way into the Linz goal.
The previous record was also held by a Salzburg player, Patrik Jezek: the Czech scored after ten seconds on the first matchday of the 2007/08 season against Altach to give the Bulls the lead.
