Fast fashion label Quiz remains in decline ahead of Christmas

British clothing retailer Quiz Plc also suffered significant losses in sales in the weeks leading up to the New Year.

According to an interim statement published on Tuesday, revenues in December amounted to 8.7 million British pounds (10.2 million euros), which corresponded to a decrease of eleven percent compared to the same month last year. The downward trend from the previous two months thus continued unabated.

The clothing supplier justified the losses with the “inflationary pressure on demand”, which led to lower frequencies in the stationary branches and in the online shop. However, the gross margin remained constant compared to the same period last year.

Management emphasized that it remains confident that it will be able to meet market expectations for the current financial year. The review of “strategic options” for the company, which began at the beginning of December, continues. The results of the investigation are to be presented at the beginning of March.
