Fashion retailers expect fewer special offers in a number of stores

According to the Textile Shoes Leather Goods (BTE) trade association, there will be fewer bargains than usual in a number of shops this year in the summer final sale. The remaining stocks of current goods in many textile and shoe stores are below the usual value, said the BTE spokesman Axel Augustin on Monday in Cologne. “It is therefore to be expected that some retailers will hold back on extensive price campaigns at the end of July.”

The unofficial end of summer sales in fashion and shoe stores usually start on the last Monday in July, this year on July 25th. However, there are already numerous special offers which, according to Augustin, consumers are happy to take advantage of. “When almost everything around you becomes more expensive, you’re all the happier when you can get attractive fashion, shoes, leather goods or household textiles cheaper,” he said.
