Customers of the Spanish fashion retailer Zara now have to pay a fee for returning online orders in Germany. This was confirmed by the parent company Inditex at the request of FashionUnited.
The fee of 1.95 euros will be deducted from the refunded amount for the return. It only applies if the shipment is handed over to a third-party collection point. In the branches, returns remain free of charge. According to Inditex, returns in the store are used by most customers. The rest of the customers should also be encouraged with the new regulation to return the online purchases in the store and to act more sustainably.
Zara has already introduced this rule for online returns in several markets. In addition to Germany, Austria and Switzerland are also included. The other Inditex brands such as Bershka, Massimo Dutti and Pull & Bear have not yet charged the fee in Germany.
