Fashion nepotism: the wave of model children

In the 90s and 2000s it was common to read a magazine and find in the social pages the models of the moment in the events that marked the temperature of the time. A hallmark of those years was seeing a photo of Valeria Mazza sharing a drinks table with Pancho Dotto as a showcase, so that brands could find in it the woman who best promoted their products. Thus, she was approached by brands such as Guess, Caro Cuore and Versace. Ricardo Piñeiro did the same with his muses, Dolores Trull, Lorena Ceriscioli and Natalia Graziano, and Claudia Neumann and his partner at the time, Teto Medinawith the little one Nicole Neumann.

Other recurring sequences were the stars who came to Buenos Aires nights in search of some love that would elevate them in the celebrity ranking. Subscribers to this technique were musicians such as Emanuel Ortegawho just knew love with the beautiful top model Ana Paula Dutil. Then they became engaged and built a beautiful family, which lasted together until recently. In short, a diverse fauna that was nourished by businessmen, representatives, models, athletes, artists and public relations.

Present and future. Today, more than two decades later, in the great events that mark the fame calendar, we find the same personalities but no longer with their future partners and/or representatives as a human showcase, but with their children, although the formula continues. being the same: show them so that they gain prominence. Of course, something changed, their last names speak for themselves. If thirty years ago it was not known whether Mazza was with one or two zetas, today reading Gravier already explains her entire genealogy to us and clarifying it is even redundant.

This week the prestigious Buenos Aires Fashion Week, better known as the BafWeek. The brand in charge of starting the five most fashionable days of the autumn-winter 2024 season was none other than Kosiuko with its slogan “No Rules, Our Rules”. And to revive his arrogance, she bore many illustrious surnames from the end of the last century but with his children. They shined on the catwalk Charo Calamarothe 17-year-old daughter of actress Julieta Cardinali and musician Andrés Calamaro, and Delfina García Moritanthe daughter of Milagros Brito and Roberto García Moritán, current husband of Pampita Ardohain, who wrote like a slimy father on his networks: “Every day more proud of you. I love you, daughter.”

In turn, in the first rows of spectators were Taina and Benicio Gravier, the children of Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier, by now, figures that are repeated in all the glamorous nights of Buenos Aires and Punta del Este. Guided by their parents, they seem like real human wallets that increase their credit gala after gala.

Dynasty. Other children who attended the Cynthia Kern and Federico Bonomi brand show were Cala Pueyrredóndaughter of Dolores Trull, Sofia Sola (19) with his mother Maru Botana, and India Ortega (18), the daughter of Emanuel Ortega and Ana Paula Dutil. Palito and Evangelina’s granddaughter also acted as a model but on the second day, she was walking for the Sadaels brand, for which she set up an aquatic catwalk. Original and avant-garde so that she can shine as the only model of the Ortega clan.

With the deployment of Prüne, came one of the most important moments of the week. The brand of handbags and accessories presented on the catwalk none other than Helena Otamendi (18), daughter of Geraldine Neumann and niece of Nicole, who captivated all fashion leaders. With her prestige in her DNA, experts in her field predict an immense future for her. Another guest who honored her family name was Simona Alvarezthe daughter of María Freytes, who also received flashes from celebrity-hunting photographers.

Although the generational change is already a fact and is reflected in each of the most important events of the year, this group of young people does not fit into a single category like their parents did. True to the times, in their social networks it can be seen that they do not follow the rules of the inherited profession but rather go through a wide range of activities such as celebrity, influencer, fashion and music, some even manage a space for philanthropy, generating charitable acts with their publications such as collections or simply inviting people to become aware of the environment. A more than positive aspect among so much frivolity and acquired extravagance.
