The British fashion company Vivienne Westwood Limited closed the 2022 financial year with a significant increase in sales. The profit was even more than twice as high as the previous year. This emerges from an annual report that was published in the British commercial register on Friday.
In 2022, the company generated sales of around 101.3 million British pounds (117.8 million euros). This corresponded to an increase of 53 percent compared to the previous year, when business was still heavily impacted by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Strong growth in all sales channels contributed to the significant increase. In its own boutiques, sales grew by 65 percent to 21.1 million British pounds, in e-commerce by 39 percent to 27.6 million British pounds and in the wholesale business by 80 percent to 40.8 million British pounds.
Thanks to the significant improvement in sales, operating profit jumped from 19.8 to 38.4 million British pounds. The net result attributable to shareholders more than doubled: it rose from 15.2 to 30.9 million British pounds (35.9 million euros).
