Belgian fashion designer Christian Wijnants has opened his first German store in Berlin.

The new store at Potsdamer Strasse 91 opened on Thursday, as the label announced on Instagram. The location is near the main store of Andreas Murkudis, and in the same street a French brand Isabel Marant store will be moving in the autumn.

The Belgian designer’s fashion is characterized by feminine silhouettes and focuses on innovative knitwear and fluid prints. After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and working for compatriot and fashion designer Dries van Noten, Wijnants founded his eponymous label in 2003.

Christian Wijnants won the International Woolmark Prize in 2013, opened a flagship store in Antwerp in 2015 and added a men’s collection to his label in 2019. In German-speaking countries, the brand is sold by the luxury retailer Apropos, the Kadewe department store and the Frankfurt boutique Hayashi, among others.
