The Hamburg mail order company Impressionen announced yesterday via its official newsletter that it will close on February 1, 2024. Impressions will therefore suffer the same fate as its parent company, the Pforzheimer Klingel Group, which will also cease operations at the end of January.
In May 2023, the Klingel Group filed for self-administration insolvency for three of its subsidiaries. In addition to the main company K-Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG and Schneider GmbH & Co. KG, the Hamburg subsidiary Impressionen Versand GmbH was also affected. Despite intensive efforts, it was not possible to find investors for the group who would be willing to invest in the group as a whole and to continue it on the basis of the restructuring concepts that had been developed. At the end of August, the company announced its final closure. Individual brands have now found buyers. Bruno Bader GmbH + Co. KG took over the Klingel brand and the womenswear brand Mona from the Klingel portfolio, the Weltbild D2C Group took over the shoe label Vamos and the two plus-size labels Miamoda and Happysize went to the Popken Fashion Group.
Impressionen Versand GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 1996 as a mail order company for fashion and furnishings and has been part of the Klingel Group since 2017. Klingel writes in a press release from August that the discontinuation of Impressionen’s business operations had already been decided before the bankruptcy filing. There is currently no word on whether the brand will be sold.
