“Farmers themselves should benefit from the trading of emission rights. We want to keep the marketing of carbon certificates in our own hands”, says Frisian dairy farmer Henk Bles, board member of the new cooperative. “We are going to see if we can put that on the market together with farmers. There is value in capturing carbon and reducing it and it should benefit farmers. They do the work, have the knowledge and should be rewarded for it.”
