About sixty to seventy farmers are on their way to Assen via the A28 from Pesse. The farmers would have avoided police cars via roadsides and drove onto the highway. With their action, they protest against the government’s nitrogen plans.
It would not be an organized action from Farmers Defense Force or LTO Noord. Initially, the idea was that the farmers would move to Hoogeveen, but they are now heading for Assen.
Besides the highway towards Hoogeveen, the border crossings also seem to be the target of protest actions. A group of farmers from Southeast Groningen plans to block the border crossing at Ter Apel tonight, reports RTV North†
