Farmers’ organizations disappointed after talks with cabinet
There is great disappointment among farmers’ organizations after the conversation on Friday, led by nitrogen mediator Johan Remkes. That’s what Jeroen van Maanen of Farmers Defense Force said on Friday, on behalf of the eight farmers’ organizations that participated in a debriefing meeting in Wageningen on Friday afternoon and claim to represent 95 percent of agriculture.
According to Van Maanen, a helping hand has been made to the cabinet on behalf of the farmers. According to him, that guideline has not been addressed, “but was a condition for a follow-up discussion for the parties”. The breached trust has not been restored, says Van Maanen.
