Farmers on the street: action in Torhout

“Today is the day of national mourning for the future of agriculture,” says the Groene Kring, the organization of young farmers and horticulturists.

They gather at 12 pm at the parking lot of the swimming pool in the Bruggestraat in Torhout. This could cause traffic disruption, police said.

“Hundreds of young farmers are protesting against the recent nitrogen agreement. In Genk, Brasschaat and Torhout – the home municipalities of ministers Demir, Jambon and Crevits – the young people of Groene Kring, the organization for young farmers and horticulturists, come out on the street with their tractors in three large mourning meetings.”
