Farmers drive past the home of Minister Rob Jetten with tractors in Ubbergen | Inland

A column of about thirty tractors and other agricultural vehicles drove past the home of climate minister Rob Jetten in Ubbergen on Sunday afternoon. According to eyewitnesses, they did not stop at the house.

It is not known whether Jetten was at home. Recently, the home of the D66 minister has been extra secured with camera surveillance. There is also a permanent police car in front of the door.

The security of the Jetten house has been increased on the advice of the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV). It is a direct result of the farming anger that has flared up in the country, insiders confirm.

Many farmers are angry about the nitrogen plans of the cabinet, in which Jetten is the minister for Climate and Energy. The home of nitrogen minister Christianne van der Wal was previously attacked.

Jetten was previously visited by angry farmers in October 2020. Also because of protests against the government’s nitrogen policy. Farmers then rang his doorbell to hand over a food package. According to the farmers, the action was intended to be playful, but Jetten did not feel comfortable with it.
