Farmers’ action group Agractie makes a “last appeal” to Minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen) not to continue with her plans. “Do not continue on the chosen path. Don’t let peaceful action escalate into a peasant uprising,” said foreman Bart Kemp in a video released Monday morning.

“Know that farmers will fight for their future,” Kemp said. “How long and how far they will fight is up to them.” The sheep farmer, who has been the face of Agractie since 2019, already said during the farmers’ protest in Stroe in Gelderland last week that the State of the Netherlands is “at war” with the “farmers’ republic.” He added for clarity that the farmers must conduct their struggle “without weapons.”

In his latest vlog, he once again calls on the minister for “careful consultation” with the sector, in order to make nitrogen policy that can count on support in the countryside. “Go back from these disastrous plans, talk to us about fundamentally different policies.”
