Farmer Ayoub in Expedition Noord-Holland the podcast: ‘When I quarreled, I jumped between father and mother’

Farmer Ayoub can not only be seen at NH Nieuws in the four-part series Expedition North Holland with Ayoub† This can now also be listened to as a brand new podcast of the same name. In this humorous podcast, made by presenter and director Koen Bugter, Ayoub lets us look even more into his soul. This time, Ayoub talks about how he “could never find peace at home and at school.”

Ayoub is increasingly seen as a role model, especially by young children. In conversation with Koen, the young farmer explains: “Believe in yourself. I do things my way. Of course you can imitate me with some things, but make sure you always keep your own identity. You are who you are. You can not be me. That makes every person unique. Everyone has their own barcode like tulips.”

Ayoub is philosophical: “I try to get more out of life. I believe I can be an important person. I want to be able to make a difference for everyone who benefits.”

Principles

Ayoub is regularly approached on his Instagram account by companies. Ayoub is aware of which brands he supports and which he does not. “I don’t do shoes that cost 600 euros. Because children also see that I have them. But some parents don’t have that money. I’ve never had that and never needed it. There are more important things than shoes that cost 600 euros .”

Koen wants to know whether Ayoub does not want to advertise expensive shoes if he would receive thousands of euros for them? “I just have principles and money doesn’t bring happiness, but luckily I do make money.”

Violence at home

Ayoub did not have an easy childhood. “There was violence at home. I was sometimes beaten. There was no peace at home and I was bullied at school. So I found no peace at school and not at home. I went outside for a walk and was alone in my room to find peace But I also wanted to be at home a lot so that there was an argument between my parents could intervene in time I was between 8 and 14 years old I jumped in or called someone It is what it is It has made me into the person I am today Somehow I’m glad I got to experience it I now know what not to do I eventually want a family with children of my own I think I would do ‘the whole mess’ differently So don’t hit. But if I make a lot of money, I’ll send him to an army camp. Yes, friend, learn discipline.”

I love you

Yet there are also positive role models in Ayoub’s life: “I myself, my cousin Hamza, my mother and farmer Jan. That is the first farmer where I did my first internship. And where I still come. He is always calm, very calm, lovely life. My agricultural father. I say to him: I love you.”
