Girlfriend of Top Gun actor James Handy Wendy Gledhill has told new information about her husband’s murder, says Daily Mail.
Wendy Gledhill, 44, is suspected of Handy’s murder Michael– son.
Handy started his day as usual by picking up the morning newspaper from the front yard. After this, an argument reportedly broke out between him and Michael in the yard, at the end of which Michael is suspected of stabbing Handy in the chest. At the time of the tragedy, Wendy Gledhill was still sleeping.
“I can only assume that my son was already outside and that they started arguing in the front yard,” Gledhill told the Daily Mail.
About half an hour later, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department knocked on the front door of the house. At that time, the woman heard about her husband’s murder for the first time.
– They said that someone had called the emergency number, and that there was a person outside the house covered with a blanket. At first I didn’t understand who they were talking about. They then told me to stay away from the door because they believed a dangerous person was still outside, Gledhill said.
Michael had lived with Handy and his mother in the same house for two years before the attack. Gledhill, who had been Handy’s partner for more than 30 years, believes her son experienced a psychotic crisis related to schizophrenia after he stopped taking his medication the previous week.
– I don’t think he used his medication then, but I can’t be completely sure, he said.
He added that he doesn’t know what could have sparked the confrontation between Handy and Michael.
With a trembling voice, Wendy said she was still shaken and hadn’t left her home since the tragedy.
– I was with James for 31 years and I loved him deeply, she said.

On Wednesday morning, at around 9:30 a.m., patrol officers in the West Valley area were alerted to a violent situation in the Tarzana residential area. The police found Handy lying in the front yard of the house, lifeless. Paramedics took Handy to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the 911 call. In the call, the son of Handy’s girlfriend asked for help to the scene and confessed to killing the man.
– I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin, the man said in the call to the emergency center.
Gledhill, 44, lives in a home on Erwin Street with his mother. The man was transported to the Van Nuys jail, where he was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Handy is remembered from the movies Top Gun: Maverick, Arachnophobia and Logan. During his career, he has appeared in more than 150 different films and TV series. Top Gun: Maverick –in the film he played a bartender.
