Is traded at FC Bayern
Konrad Laimer is open to moving from DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig to another club. It is “quite possible that I will not play in Leipzig next season,” said the 25-year-old midfielder on Tuesday at the Austrian national team’s training camp in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. “It’s a phase where you think about your future. I’m concentrating on the national team now. After that I will sit down and talk to my closest ones and see what the best possible next step is for me.”

Laimer was recently mentioned several times as a preferred candidate by coach Julian Nagelsmann at FC Bayern Munich. The Salzburg native’s working paper at RB runs until 2023. According to Leipzig club policy, Laimer would have to extend his contract this summer or be sold. Managing director Oliver Mintzlaff does not actually plan to leave regular players free of charge – but the “Sport Bild” recently wrote that the whereabouts do not depend on an extension. He didn’t want to put his decision under pressure. “I’m taking my time because it’s a very important decision.”
Mintzlaff recently emphasized that he absolutely wanted to keep Laimer. “Of course we want to keep him. He’s one of the top six in the Bundesliga and played a fantastic second half of the season,” he said on Servus TV. “He fits in perfectly with our club and our DNA and his skills are almost unique in Germany.”
Recently there was an imminent Bayern offer of around 20 million euros for Laimer, who is one of Nagelsmann’s favorite students. The national player played 46 games under the coach in days together at RB Leipzig, in which he contributed four goals and seven assists. A release clause of EUR 40 million had already been reported. In addition to Bayern, Laimer had been linked to Borussia Dortmund and several Premier League clubs (to the rumor overview).
