At the kick-off of the cycling tour, Pieter de Waard says about his future to reporter Koen Bugter that he will not sit behind the geraniums: “Money has to come in to keep the De Waard family running. As it looks now, I want three months as a waiter on the beach of IJmuiden. After that I want to drive a forklift truck in a warehouse for five months. That’s how I once started my working life. In addition, I want to give my communication agency hands and feet again.”
Supporter in heart and soul
The football club from IJmuiden will really have to continue without De Waard. “Telstar, I will not visit for a season, but after that I look forward to being a supporter in heart and soul,” said the retiring chairman.
