Farewell and relegation from the Bundesliga: A sad day awaits Bielefeld and Klos – football – sport

Klos will only be there as a spectator on Saturday (May 14th, 2022) at the Bielefelder Alm. His severe head injury – probably a fractured skull – which he suffered in the Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart at the beginning of April, is hardly visible anymore. However, an application is not (yet) to be thought of.

Depressed mood in Bielefeld

It is his second extremely serious head injury. On 4 October 2013, the attacker collided with Mo Idrissou in the second division game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and suffered multiple facial fractures. Only days later, when the swelling had subsided, were 13 metal plates and 26 screws inserted.

It has not yet been announced how his injuries have been treated. Everyone involved hopes that Klos will survive the new injury without side effects and after-effects and remain free of symptoms.

So the mood is depressed around the Bielefelder Alm. On the one hand, the season that ended badly is coming to an end. On the other hand, it also means saying goodbye to the player Klos, who played it in his eleven seasons at DSC a real crowd pleaser has almost become an icon (389 competitive games, 162 goals, 71 assists) – and is now officially adopted by the club.

Klos leaves a big void

The one from the fans to “soccer god“Arminia will miss the chosen one as a figure of identification. “The way I live the club was appreciated by the fans. The title will always be associated with my name here.”said Klos in February, shortly after he announced his post-season departure – also because his expiring contract was not extended.

That gap on the pitch, but also his personality off the field, are two factors that don’t exactly make things easier for his successors – and certainly not for the club. There will probably be a lot of tears this Saturday in East Westphalia.
