With the promotion to A of Lecce and Cremonese we are going to discover the most interesting prospects of the two teams
With three days to go, in Serie A, no verdict has arrived, neither in the queue nor at the top of the standings. Yesterday, after a long ride, Serie B ended. Lecce and Cremonese will arrive in the top flight. In the promotion playoffs Pisa, Monza, Brescia, Ascoli, Benevento and Perugia compete for the last place. Disappointment Parma, the ducals of Gigi Buffon remain another year in the cadeteria while Crotone makes a sensational double relegation placing themselves in the penultimate place which is equivalent to returning to Serie C. In the fantasy football that will come, therefore, there will be the players of Lecce and Cremonese: let’s go to see the most interesting prospects of the two teams.

After two years of purgatory, Baroni’s Lecce climbs up the slope grabbing the promotion from first in the standings, which vanished in the playoff semifinals last season. The driver of Puglia was without any doubt Massimo Coda, top scorer of the tournament with 20 goals (and 7 assists). The striker born in 1988 is a certainty in Serie B: last year he had already won the title of main scorer with 22 centers. In A he has already played several seasons with the Parma and Benevento shirts. One shoulder of the Campania center forward was undoubtedly Gabriel Strefezza: for the Italian-Brazilian, 14 goals and 6 assists. Interesting numbers for a very flexible player who did well in Serie A also with Spal a couple of seasons ago. After last year’s promotion as a driving force with Venice, Di Mariano is also confirmed with the Giallorossi: 5 goals and 3 assists for the winger nephew of art (his uncle is Schillaci). Not only the attack: Lecce also had the best defense of the tournament, with Gabriel – former goalkeeper of Milan and Napoli – who closed the door in 14 out of the 31 games played. In the median we report the great season of Gargiulo (3 goals for the former Cittadella) while as an interesting youth prospect look at Pablo Rodriguez, Spanish footballer born in 2001, who grew up in the Cantera of Real Madrid: last year he did very well (6 goals), this year also conditioned by injuries and the great performance of the aforementioned Strefezza and Di Mariano found less space than usual.

Last season in A dated 1995-1996. Twenty-six very hard years, lived between B, C and even C2. The ‘Cremo’ hooks the promotion train to the last day, taking advantage of the defeat of Monza, who fell in the ‘fatal’ Perugia. The grigiorossi were at the top of the table, but a couple of consecutive defeats had almost thwarted the efforts of a season made at a high level. A mix of youth but also expert profiles with a ‘Juve’ soul: an important year for the 2001 class of Fagioli (3 goals and 5 assists) and the 1998 winger Zanimacchia (8 goals and 4 assists), both owned by the Bianconeri . The ‘Millennials’ Gaetano also did well (7 goals and 6 assists), a product of the Napoli nursery, and Carnesecchi, a goalkeeper whose card is from Atalanta (9 clean sheets, 38 goals conceded in 36 games). This is the ‘best’ red-gray youth. But even the old men did their job, with captain Ciofani (36 springs), author of 8 goals, the midfielder Castagnetti (from 2018 to the Cremonese), precious in both phases and Di Carmine, a forward who did very well in Verona , good at scoring the decisive brace yesterday against Como. Two teams with different philosophies but who deserved to find the Serie A stage again, managing to get the better of a thrilling final that saw Monza, candidate for promotion, fall at the last corner against Perugia. We are convinced that, clearly, the two teams will be modified to aim for safety. However, with a view to the fantasy football that will come, some of these players will be able to make it comfortable and deserve to be paid attention to in view of next summer …
