AZ will not play the away game against Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday at 4.45 pm, but at 12.15 pm. Because supporters of the home club are protesting, mayor Ron König has brought forward the kick-off of the Eredivisie game.
Supporters of the home club walk in a corteo (a procession) from the center of Deventer to the stadium. In doing so, they are protesting against the corona rules, which stipulate that football stadiums may only be filled for one third of the capacity.
For reasons of public order and safety, the mayor believes that this should be done in daylight.
