Guus Meeuwis fans clearly can’t get enough of the ‘Groots met een soft G’ concerts. Public ticket sales for the last concert series, which will take place in June 2024 in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, were so overwhelming at the start on Friday morning that two days were immediately added to the series of concerts on 14, 15 and 16 June: Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June.
Guus Meeuwis is delighted with the enormous interest in ‘Groots-De Laatste’. “It is an almost surreal experience, while I am busy with my team and the band in the bubble of the Philips Stadium preparing for this weekend, that so many people want to be part of next year’s last edition of ‘ Big with a soft G’. I’m really going into this weekend with wings!”

Since the first edition in 2006, ‘Groots met een soft G’ has grown into the Netherlands’ largest annual music spectacle by a solo artist. Also during this year’s edition – which starts this Friday – Meeuwis will again be in a filled to the brim Philips Stadium three times.
The big question remains: why stop doing something that is so successful? It’s a question the singer has been asked many times in recent months. “Every year when I announced a new edition of ‘Groots’ was a pinch-on-my-arm moment for me. Again and again that blissful feeling that I could do it again. I didn’t take one edition for granted. Always agreed with myself that I should never think it’s normal and that I want to stop at the peak. That climax cannot be measured and for my feeling not even in sight, but that appointment with myself has remained. Sometimes you have to have the balls to make a decision that you cannot rationally explain. I will personally ensure that 2024 is not ‘Great’, but ‘Greatest’.”
