Fans can wave goodbye to Arno in Ostend for scattering at sea

The farewell ceremony at sea takes place in an intimate circle at the request of the deceased. But the fans still get the chance to greet Arno one last time. At the Westerstaketsel in Ostend, the boat with Arno’s urn will pass by on Saturday around 3.15 pm on its way to the open sea. Anyone who still wants to say goodbye to Arno is invited to meet there at “‘t Hoofd” on the Westerstaketsel.

Arno Hintjens died on Saturday 23 April 2022 from the effects of pancreatic cancer. The singer was 72. Arno was born on May 21, 1949 in Ostend as Arno Charles Ernest Hintjens. He was passionate about music from an early age. At eighteen he left Ostend to travel through Europe and parts of Asia, alone with his guitar. He made his money by singing. The breakthrough followed in 1981 with the group TC Matic. After a few years the band broke up and Arno went solo. He gradually grew into one of the most respected rock artists in Belgium.
