Both the men and women of ZV De Zaan took the water polo cup yesterday. Trainer of the men, Andreas Miralis, his message is clear: “We want to win three prizes this year. We won the Supercup earlier. Now the cup, but the big goal is the national championship.”
They are also going for the championship in the women’s race. “I think that we and GZC DONK will break up. We are going for it 100% in any case,” said trainer Mick van den Bree.
“It was a pity that we were not allowed to take torches into the pool”
Forzaan
Sven Joustra founded fan club Forzaan a few years ago. “My sister Kitty-Lynn started playing water polo, but I just didn’t have the talent. I like to stir things up and get a bit more atmosphere. Too bad we weren’t allowed to take torches into the pool,” says Sven Joustra laughing.
Staying on top
ZV De Zaan was created in 2012 after a merger. The first prizes have now been received and, so to speak, the club is doing fine. It is now also important to stay at the top. “You must always continue to invest in the youth and set up good trainers and facilities. In addition, you must remain attractive as. When the club performs, it automatically attracts players,” said Ingrid Rempt-Leijendekker of the top sports committee ZV De Zaan.
