Fanatics will now sell fan merchandise from US college teams worldwide

The US sporting goods provider Fanatics Inc. is expanding its business with fan articles for well-known US college teams. The company announced on Monday that it would in future offer licensed merchandise products from selected universities worldwide through its own retail network and partner shops.

Given the “growing athletic and fashion appeal of U.S. college sports,” Fanatics has entered into a long-term partnership with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the company said. As part of the license agreement, the sporting goods provider will in future produce fan clothing from selected college teams and market it worldwide. Special products will also be developed for customers outside the USA.

As a first step, Fanatics will now offer items from 15 colleges through its international sales channels, including the University of Florida, the University of Texas, Michigan State University, LSU and the University of Michigan. The company said it plans to add more universities to its range in the future.

With the now announced partnership, Fanatics is further expanding its presence in US college sports. The company says it is already working with more than 150 colleges to sell fan merchandise in the USA.
