Fanatics creates Chief People Officer role

US sports retailer Fanatics has appointed Orlando Ashford to the newly created position of Chief People Officer.

In this role, Fanatics announced on Thursday that he would work closely with the three divisions Commerce, Collectibles and Betting & Gaming. He is also responsible for global human resources and is tasked with driving diversity and inclusion efforts and encouraging philanthropic initiatives across the workforce.

He reports directly to CFO Glenn Schiffman, who is responsible for matters such as total compensation and HR infrastructure, strategy, policies and operations, and CEO Michael Rubin, who is responsible for matters such as culture, talent development, corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion is.

Ashford comes from private equity firm Sycamore Partners, where he was a strategic advisor. He has also worked for companies such as Marsh & McLennan Companies, The Coca-Cola Company and Motorola. Ashford brings experience in corporate leadership and global human resources with a focus on culture and talent development.
