Family saves equipment from burning trailer near Deventer, rents a new one and gets a performance | Deventer

A family with two children rescued sound equipment from their burning trailer this morning on the A1, near the Deventer-Oost exit. The family was on their way to a performance in Amersfoort to provide the sound for a band.

At one point, the driver of the car saw smoke behind his car, after which he stopped in an emergency lane. The trailer containing the equipment was on fire. The flames were largely extinguished with a can of coolant, but the fire continued to flare up.

The equipment could largely be rescued by the occupants, the fire brigade then extinguished the smoldering trailer.

New trailer

Under the guise of ‘the show must go on‘, the couple rented a new trailer at the gas station at the bottom of the exit, after which the journey to Amersfoort was continued. The burned trailer was towed away by a salvage company.

The exit was closed during the extinguishing and salvage work and reopened around 10 a.m.
