On April 11, Jamie Foxx suffered an undisclosed medical emergency. But he was quickly on the mend, his family reported at the time. Since the 55-year-old is still in the hospital four weeks after the incident and is being treated, his family is preparing “for the worst”, as various US media reports. He is currently in a Georgia hospital where he is under close observation.
The reason for Foxx’s hospitalization is not yet known. However, a source close to the actor knows that his family is “hoping for the best” while also preparing for “the worst”. “Jamie’s people say he’s fine and getting better while the doctors are trying to get to the bottom of his problems – but he wouldn’t be in the hospital as long if he were okay,” the source revealed “Radar Online”.
On May 3, Foxx opened up about his condition himself: “I appreciate all the love!!! Feel blessed,” he wrote in the Instagram post.
Fans and celebrities reacted to the post. “Jamie, come on!!! We need you,” replied one user. Halle Berry also spoke up. “Love you Jamie,” the 56-year-old wrote.
Prior to Foxx’s medical emergency, he was working on a new comedy for Netflix called Back In Action, which also stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close. Jamie Foxx won the Lead Actor Oscar for his role as Ray Charles in Ray (2005). Kanye West’s single “Gold Digger,” which features the 55-year-old, went eight times platinum in the United States. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
